Rules and Regulations

1. Definitions

  • Cemetery: Refers to all sections of the cemetery, including Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, and Northeast Sections, and any future additions.
  • Association: Refers to the governing body of the cemetery, including the Board of Trustees and other designated agents.
  • Lot/Plot/Burial Space: Interchangeable terms referring to one or more adjoining grave spaces.
  • Memorial/Marker/Monument: Refers to approved granite, marble, or other material markers placed flush with the ground or upright.
  • Certificate of Perpetual Use: The document that states the lot’s location and grants perpetual use rights to the purchaser.

2. Interments and Disinterments

  • Purpose: The cemetery is exclusively for burial purposes. Transfer of burial rights requires approval from the Association and must be registered.
  • Interments: Reserved for family members and relatives of the plot owner. Special permission is required for exceptions.
  • Grave Opening and Monument Installation: All grave openings and monument installations must be performed under the supervision of the Association.
  • Transfer of Burial Rights: Any transfer must be registered with the Board of Trustees.

3. Lot Regulations

  • Southwest Section: Reserved for persons with family members buried there. Those meeting the qualifications must register their claim with the Association.
  • Perpetual Use Rights: Available for plots in other sections, priced by the Board. Ownership of the lot remains with the Association.
  • Lot Elevation: The grade and elevation of plots cannot be altered without Association consent.
  • Boundary Markers: All markers set by the Association must remain undisturbed.
  • Removal of Decorations: The Association reserves the right to remove any unsightly decorations or items that do not follow the rules.

4. Visitor Conduct

  • Respectful Behavior: Visitors must maintain a quiet and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Vehicles: Vehicles must be driven slowly through the cemetery grounds. Heavy trucks are prohibited during funerals and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Disturbances: The Association reserves the right to expel individuals disturbing the peace or engaging in inappropriate conduct.

5. Monuments and Memorials

  • Monument Materials: All monuments must be made from approved materials (granite, marble). The Association has the right to reject monuments deemed inappropriate.
  • Installation and Size: Monuments must fit within plot boundaries. All monuments must be approved before installation.
  • Removal of Monuments: Any unapproved or unsightly monument will be removed after reasonable effort to contact the owner.
  • Commercial Advertising: No commercial advertising is allowed on the cemetery grounds.
  • Funeral Designs: Floral designs or funeral pieces will be removed once they become unsightly or after an appropriate period.

6. Miscellaneous

  • Burial Permits: Undertakers must provide proper burial permits and necessary documents for interment.
  • Visiting Hours: Visitors are welcome at all times, though the Association may impose restrictions when necessary.
  • Record-Keeping: The Association maintains complete records of interments and use rights.
  • Liability: The Association is not responsible for damages to monuments caused by weather, environmental factors, or accidents during installation.
